CIS Catering Excellence Awards

Event Date May 2010
Event Location The Hilton Hotel, Glasgow
Event Type Awards Dinner

MCL has been working with Catering Scotland for the past three years. Each year MCL try and raise the bar with a new approach to set design using new display technology.  In 2010 the set was based around Mitrix.  The CIS Catering Excellence Awards recognise the achievements of the key people, catering specialists, Hotels and restaurants in the Scottish hospitality industry. MCL have been privileged to look after the production and AV support as well as co-sponsoring and presenting an award each year. This has given us the opportunity to showcase new technologies to clients and prospects and to treat them to an amazing night of great food and entertainment whilst they see our team in action.

This prestigious event was delivered to the crème de la crème of the hospitality industry in Scotland.

For the third year running MCL turned out a great awards ceremony with a stage set featuring Mitrix LED display technology to produce a seamless event.  Moving images and textures were run through Mitrix, complementing the lighting and allowing the whole room to be transformed at the touch of a button. Each award was given a different colour scheme and Mitrix texture.

The use of two main screens with a further two at the back of the suite with a two camera relay, meant that anyone in the room could see the activity on the stage with ease. Full rehearsals were carried out after signing off on last minute slide, script and music changes to ensure all the technicians were prepared to make the event as smooth as possible.

MCL, CIS, Federation of Chefs Scotland and JMD Events meet for a post event debrief to discuss all the positive and negative aspects about the event, and to discuss the changes we can make for the following year.
